What our community has to say …

  • "BHF is literally a guardian angel, the help you guys provide is beyond beautiful and I just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart🖤"

    BHF recipient, 2023

  • "Nearly 2 years ago, I got to have 8 therapy sessions with the funds distributed. It was an incredible journey that I hope to embark on again soon. This is an amazing initiative for the Black community where mental health is not always prioritized"

    BHF recipient, 2023

  • "Thank you for providing such resources for our healing. As a Black queer person who attends a colonial institution where resources are limited or practically non-existent, this truly provides help"

    BHF recipient, 2022

  • "BHF really helped me out a couple years ago with therapy fees, very grateful for this initiative, thank you 💛"

    BHF recipient, 2021

  • "This inflation has made things harder than they already were. I feel as though this fund would help me explore the solutions I have towards improving my mental health through this difficult time"

    BHF recipient, 2021

  • "Thank you for all the work y'all do. It is much needed and extremely important. I'm grateful that there are resources to seek out when mental health care feels inaccessible/out of reach. The hope is very special <3 "

    BHF recipient, 2021

  • "Thank you to the whole BHF team. Your work is life sustaining and life saving. Mahadsanid"

    BHF recipient, 2021

  • "Thank you so much for what you’re doing for the community. As a Black trans person, proper mental health help is almost unthinkable financially. Kisses and hugs 😘"

    BHF recipient, 2023

  • Thank you for continuing this very brave campaign for Black folks in this city. I’m so thrilled to be able to send it to friends and loved ones to see if they can get the care they deserve. Poverty itself is so debilitating on the mind/body/spirit and you’re one of the only initiatives that recognize that—you’re doing important, integral work.
