I believe that we cannot move into the liberative futures we dream without grief, which asks us to acknowledge the full weightedness of this reality. With grief, we cannot emotionally or spiritually by-pass the loss that has resulted from colonial violence. Instead, we do the work of returning to ourselves and each other - something that capitalist infrastructures prevent us from experiencing by upholding white supremacy in the form of individualism.
